Of
the 2 Puntate Grave, and Ordinaria, or minima.
Rule
6.
The
Puntata grave is used in the Cascarde and
in the Balletti, and is done
in 2
beats moving in the first the left foot, and pushing it as much forward
that it
passes with its heel some by the point of the feet, and for the breadth
would
be 4 or 5 inches distant from that same foot, wantonizing always: and
then
stopping a little while, as would be a pause.
Then in the middle of the second beat, move the right foot, and
bring it
to even of the left: and diminishing down with the body a very little,
and
raising with grace, as it was in the rule of doing the Riverenza grave.

Reconstruction of the Puntata Grave
The
Puntata ordinaria, which is otherwise
called minima, is done in the
same
manner, as that of above: except which that is done in 2 beats, and
this in
one, and in that you diminish the body in the bringing the right to the
left
foot: and in this suddenly bringing together, without diminishing it,
you raise
a very little the heel together with the body; and quickly and with
grace
return to diminish; and these are done in the Cascarde.
