Of the manner of learning to do the Passi gravi in the Balletti.

Rule 7.

The Passi grave in the Balletti is done all in one beat of time, moving the left foot, and pushing it forward, as right to is named in the Puntata grave; then passing the right foot, it will do the same which is done by the left: and all with grace, and beauty, accompanying it some with the body, and wantonizing: be careful to carry the points of the feet straight, and the knees well extended.

Of the Passi Presti in the Cascarde.

Rule 8.

The Passi presti in the Cascarde, is done as above, except, which they are done in one beat of time, and this in half, and quickly.

 

Of the Passi larghi fermati in Gagliarda. (large step confirmed in Gagliard)

Rule 9.

The Passi larghi fermati in Gagliard is done throwing the left foot a half yard, or thereabout, back, and for wideness distant from the right foot about four inches, with bending and widening some gracefully the knees; the same will have to do with the right foot; giving to each step, the time of one beat of this in Gagliard.

 

Of the Passetti (little steps) in Gagliard

Rule 10.

The Passetti presti (quick) in the same Gagliard is done quickly, although in the same manner, which the Passi larghi fermati said, that is, in half time, with the legs well extended, and on point of feet with agility and nimbleness raising, and diminishing, in the manner of Balzetti, the body, always with the feet uneven, as if in the manner of the Cadenza.
