To the Illustrious Lady
The Lady Laura Palina Rustici,
Roman Gentlewoman

Whom of Cupid bad dear Mother
Sees, filled of grace, and of beauty,
In Gnido, or in Cyprus, by the souls countries
Casting balls in middle to glorious troops;
See the fair member today, and comely
Of one gentle Lady, which of honesty
Is dwelling, and light to this our eye
Of honor, which chases the wicked desires, and dark.
If the eyes turn, smile, or if reason,
If sing, or dance, rest or if walk
These women, which of high glory now are crowned;
Seems more than mortal, but divine
Goddess of tiring Parnassus, and Helliconia
And this is Laura Rustici Palina.
