To the Illustrious Lady,
The Lady Francesca Turini Bufalina
Mortal language is not able to join unto the sign
Of your praises, or of the World wonderment,
Singular of beauty and of value,
Of virtue, and courtesy true favored.
Lady worthy of Empire, and of each King;
Fortunate are you [hiiferno - no translation found], whence the splendor
Resides, and at all times sparkles forth
Of the high presence, and your divine wit;
By the fame which to the world of You cries,
Although ever you have seen, I have my thoughts
Turned, with this Ballo to honor you:
Therefore Francesca, sun of the world guides,
Lights, and splendor: take you willingly
The little gift, which my virtue can give to you.

Maraviglia D'Amore (Marvel of Love)
Cascarda;
In Praise of the Illustrious Lady,
The Lady Francesca Turina Bufalini
In the present Cascarda, taking them by the right hand, as is
had in the picture of Cesia
Orsina, they will do together 1 Seguito spezzato to the left with
the left foot, and the Riverenza minima with the right; then letting
go, they will do 2 Riprese with the right flank outward, and 2
Trabuchetti, starting with the right: they will return to do the same
by opposite, taking the left hand: then in the wheel they will do
2 Seguiti spezzati, and 4 Trabuchetti facing, with 2 Scambiate, 1 to
the left, and the other to the right; then they will do 2 Riprese, 2
Trabuchetti with the left flank outward, and 2 Passi presti forward
with the Cadenza: the same Riprese, Trabuchetti, and Passi forward,
with the Cadenza, they will do also by opposite.
In the second time, the man alone will do 2 Seguiti spezzati flanked
back, and 4 Trabuchetti; then he will do 2 other Seguiti spezzati
turned to the left, with 2 Passi presti forward, and the Cadenza:
together then they will do 4 Trabuchetti, and 1 Seguito spezzato to the
left, touching the right hand, starting it with the left foot, and
doing the Riverenza minima with the right: after they will return to do
the 4 Trabuchetti, and the Seguito spezzato, starting it with the right
to the right, and the Riverenza minima with the left foot: after, they
will do 2 Passi presti back flanked, starting it with the left, with 1
Passo trangato forward, and to the right they will turn 2 Seguiti
spezzati, starting it with the right foot: the same Passi, and Seguiti
spezzati they will do another turn by opposite, starting with the
right, with the 2 Seguiti spezzati turned to the left.
In the third time, the lady alone will do the same which the man will
have done; together then they will do all the other things which they
will have done in the second change.
In the fourth time, they will do similarly together 2 Passi
presti, and 1 Seguito spezzato to the left; they will do the same
to the right by opposite, then they will do facing 2 Scambiate, 1 to
the left, the other to the right, starting each thing with the left
foot, then following with the right: after that, they will do the
jousting in this manner, that is, 2 Fioretti a piedi pari, with 2 Passi
presti flanked back, and 2 Seguiti spezzati, passing and changing
place, and in the first Seguito spezzato they will give a beat to the
right hand: they will return to do the same another turn passing, and
giving another beat to the left, each one returning to their place;
then they will do 4 Trabuchetti facing, and 1 Seguito spezzato turned
to the left, starting with the left foot, and the Cadenza with the
right facing: the same 4 Trabuchetti, and Seguito spezzato, together
with the Cadenza, they will do another turn by opposite; and at the end
resting facing, as they will have started, they will do the Riverenza
against the time of the sound, and will finish the Cascarda.
