To the Illustrious Lady,
The Lady Olimpia Cuppis De'Massimi,
Roman Gentlewoman
Since that of the clear, and lights of Horizon
Of your countenance, returns the Sun to us,
That major light of fair shining adorns
I am not able to show proudly the front.
Conform to my bold and shameless desires,
Now that new accident not turn away from,
Receive you my gift, which in You is summoned,
And in you desire to make his glories count:
So you will go most proud, and most sublime
Among the Roman Massimi; so you would be able
To make clear one which has mystery of your light:
But what say I? If in my favor holds you
The eyes, and the right foot among the first Ladies,
Your prize to those all is Captain.
