Barriera (Barrier)
Balletto
Of doing it in 6

In Praise of the Illustrious Lady
The Lady Francesca Giunta Mannucci

In this Balletto will be 6 people, 3 men, and 3 ladies in the wheel, as yet is said in the Contrapasso nuovo, and together they will do the Riverenza grave, and 2 Continenze, 1 to the left, the other to the right; then they will turn 2 Seguiti ordinarii to the left, with the Riverenza facing, starting each thing with the left foot, except the Riprese.

In the second time all together will do 2 Puntate, 1 forward, and the other back; then walking in the wheel to the left, they will do 4 Passi gravi, and 1 Seguito turned to the left, with 2 Riprese facing to the right, and 2 Continenze, 1 to the left, the other to the right.

In the third time they will do another turn the same walk in the same manner: except that in place of the 2 Continenze they will do the Riverenza grave.

In the fourth time, each man will take the lady who will be to the right hand, by the right hand, and together they will do 2 Puntate: then letting it go, they will turn to the left, with 4 Passi gravi, changing place; facing then they will do 1 Seguito ordinario to the left, with 2 Riprese to the right, and the Riverenza.

In the fifth time, taking the left hand they will do the same; returning therefore each one to their place.

Change of the men alone.

In the sixth time the men alone will do facing to their lady, 2 Fioretti a piedi pari, 2 Passi presti forward, with 2 other Fioretti, and 2 other Passi presti, then they will be turned in perspective to the left, and will do 1 Seguito spezzato, starting each thing with the left foot, and the Riverenza minima with the right; similarly turning to the right, they will do the same by opposite.  After that they will do 4 Seguiti spezzati back; then all together, as much the ladies as the men, they will do the Riverenza grave facing.

Change of the ladies alone.

In the seventh time the ladies alone will do 4 Seguiti spezzati flanked forward, then each one will be turned in perspective to the left, doing 1 Seguito spezzato with the left foot, and the Riverenza minima with the right; then turning it in perspective to the right, they will do the same by opposite: they will do also back 4 Seguiti spezzati, as much the men as the ladies, and the Riverenza together.

To the sciolta of the Sonata grave.

In this first time of this sciolta grave, all together will do 2 Doppii in the wheel, 1 to the left, the other to the right: then they will do 2 Puntate flanked back, and 1 Seguito scorso forward, taking all the hands in the wheel; then letting go, they will do 4 Seguiti spezzati flanked back, and 2 Seguiti ordinarii turned to the left, finding them at the end of this facing.

In the second time, they will also do the same, except that in place of the 2 Seguiti turned, they will do facing the Riverenza grave.

To the sciolta of the Sonata in saltarello.

In this time of the sciolta, as much the men as the ladies, they will do 4 Seguiti spezzati flanked forward, then each person will give 4 beats, starting the first beat with the right hand to the lady which will stand to their right; then with the left to her who will stand to the left; and this they will do 2 turns until the 4 beats are done: then they will do 2 Continenze, taking them all by the hands in the wheel, and after this the Riverenza grave.

To the sciolta of the Sonata in gagliarda.

In this final time of the sciolta, after the Riverenza is done, they will let go the hands, and will do 4 Seguiti flanked back: then they will do 2 Riprese, and 3 Trabuchetti to the left, starting it with the left foot: they will do the same to the right, starting it with the right.  Finally they will do 4 Passi trangati flanked back, as yet is said in the other Barriera, with 1 Seguito scorso: then taking each one the lady which will stand to the right hand by the ordinary hand, they will end the Ballo, with doing in the wheel together the Riverenza.
