To the Most Illustrious Lady
The lady Donna Cornelia Orsina Altemps,
Marquesse of Gallese

Two suns, this and that clear, and shining,
I have seen together at these banks about:
That to shut, and this to open us the day,
And of the west others to make us the east;
That of rays, and of torches burning,
In the lap of the ocean would make return;
This with his chariot turning, adorned
Would make all the world, joyful and smiling.
Who ever would see such marvel yet?
Phoebus descends from Heaven: thence approaches to the sea,
That one sun more lovely than his would be seen to issue forth;
But who perceives of you the clear eyes,
Cornelia, each wonderment ceases, and adores you,
And would see the day, which to your face appears.

In Praise of the Most Illustrious Lady Donna Cornelia Orsina Altemps,
Marquesse of Gallese

This dance has to start, the man taking the ordinary hand of the lady, doing together the Riverenza, and 2 Continenze; then walking, they will do 2 Seguiti ordinarii, 2 Trabuchetti gravi, and 2 Riprese to the left flank: after 2 other Seguiti will be done, starting with the right foot, and 2 other Trabuchetti, and 2 Riprese to the left flank.

In the second time, said walk will be followed, doing 2 Puntate, 2 Passi, and 1 Seguito, starting it with the left foot: the same will be done starting it with the right foot, then 2 Continenze will be done, 1 to the left, and the other to the right, and the Riverenza with the left foot.

In the third time the right hand will be taken, doing 2 Passi, and 1 Seguito, starting it with the left foot: then it will be let go, doing the same with the right foot, turning therefore tot he left hand: facing 2 Trabuchetti gravi will be done, and 1 Seguito ordinario, starting it with the left foot: then 2 other Trabuchetto will be done facing, starting with the right foot, and 2 Riprese to the right flank: they will do then 1 Puntata forward with the left foot, touching the hand, and letting it go, thence they will do another with the right foot back, and the Riverenza facing.

In the fourth time, the same will be done which yet is done to the right: taking therefore with the left hand.

Facing will be done 4 Trabuchetti, 1 Spezzato with the left foot forward, and the Riverenza, touching the right hand: the same will be done another turn, starting it with the right foot, doing 1 Spezzato with the right foot, and the Riverenza with the left foot, touching the left hand: then they will do 2 Spezzati flanked back, and 2 Passi presti forward, and the Cadenza as in the Cascarde, starting it with the left foot, or in change of doing 2 Passi, and the Cadenza, they will do 2 Riprese, and 1 Trabuchetto with the feet even with the left flank inward: the same will be done by opposite, starting from the 2 Spezzati back; after will be done 2 Seguiti: and taking the ordinary hand, the left foot will be put forward, and doing the Riverenza the Balletto will be finished.
