To the Illustrious Lady
The Lady Lavinia Cavalieri Carducci,
Roman Gentlewoman
Gentle spirit, which with witty acts
Jesting with the Graces, and with Love,
Draws unto you glory, to the other accrued ardor,
And joy, if well were cold, and sad:
Now with my fashion the nimble and quick feet
Move, and your lovely and natural color
Of scarlet paint, and of vermilion, and the great splendor
You scatter to others sight with honest acts:
So to you same to acquire prize learn,
And to feed the eyes of immortal sparkles,
Which flashing go forth of your lovely rays:
So to make ever eternally clear
I hope your virtue which at all times quiet
Makes the soul, and my thinking overcomes of enough.

with 2 Passi presti to the left, and the Cadenza, starting with the
left, and other 2 Passi presti, and the Cadenza to the right, starting
with the right. The man will do then 1 Trabuchetto to feet even

lady that will be to the right hand: and then the left to the other
lady: the which the ladies will do also the one after the other,
finding them to the end of the said Seguiti each one to their own
place: the man will do then 2 Passi in Gagliarda, with the Cadenza: and
the ladies will do the same the 1 after the other. They will do
then together 2 Scambiate, 1 to the left, and the other to the right:

who will stand to the right hand: the whom will also do the same, going
to the place of the man: and the lady who will stand to the left,
passing also in the middle, and going in the place of the other lady,
will do the same which the others will have done: the which will owe to
