The Construct Rights Movement (Construct Rights)
The following were notes while the character was evolving. They do not necessarily represent the way it came out.
Agatha's "father" for most of her life. She's always known that Adam wasn't her real father, but they've loved each other every bit as much as if he were. Married to Lilith, and loves her very much.
Adam is extremely strong, capable of lifting heavy farm machinery. He is mute. He has spent most of the past couple of decades pretending to be human, so he hides his strength under most circumstances. People tend to assume that he is stupid, due to the strength and lack of speech, but nothing of the sort is true -- he is both quite intelligent and resourceful.
He is strong enough that (v3, p104) he can simply fling rivets at people to knock them out, and even to go clear through bodies -- he throws them at bullet strength. It appears (same page) that he wears what amounts to a "utility bandolier" with all sorts of useful things in it.
It would be relatively easy to work Adam into the Circus, if that appeared to make sense: he could serve as the strongman for the group, and no one would bat an eye. The big issue is whether a mute character is too challenging to play effectively.

Notice how [horrified Lilith and Adam are] by the idea of Gil marrying Agatha. Is that simply their opinion of the Wulfenbach's, or do they know something more? (Keeping in mind my hypothesis that they may be half-siblings.)
Note that Klaus [refers to him as "Punch"]. That would seem to imply that that was his original name, not just made up for the stories. How does he feel about that?
Possible plot idea (weird enough that it had to come to me in a dream): Adam has recently obtained a voicebox, designed specifically for Constructs. What they didn't realize until it was installed is that this was a weaponized voice. It has left him with more or less Black Bolt's power: if he speaks, he does considerable damage to everything and everyone around him. Even Lilith, strong as she is, tends to take damage when he speaks. Indeed, it's even caused him a fair amount of internal damage, which is why he needs attention from a skilled Spark, preferably Agatha (but really ideally Gil).
We get a look at what his associates think of him on (v5, p41). At the least, Agathas Jagers think the world of him -- they describe him as strong smart, canny, gentlemanly and kind. There's a strong natural alliance here. Indeed, they might be the ones who bring him into the troupe.
As we see on (v5, p102) and (v5, p109), Gil has been working in secret to save Adam and Lilith. He wants to sneak them out of the Castle before Klaus finds out.
The very last time we see him, on (v5, p109), Adam actually speaks! At least, he whispers to Gil. It's not clear whether he's always been able to do that, or if it's something Gil has done.
After going on the run at the end of Book One, they manage to hide effectively enough that [Gil can't find them].
Amount of Character Potential: Good (Has some inherent weakness, being mute and not immediately tied into the web. But there are enough other characters with ties to him to give him a reasonable chance.)
