To the Illustrious Lady,
The Lady Vittoria Rustici Della Corvara,
Roman Gentlewoman
Here Fauns run, Satyrs, and Woods-men,
Nymphs, and Shepherds, and of Shepherds the God:
There each soul of joyful, and good desire
Is kindled, and they come near, and far;
Thence cold thoughts, craggy, and strange
Are plunged all to the river of oblivion:
Thence each gentle spirit shall be, not which I,
That the eyes not be going far from the noble feet.
The Tebro is revolved to each step
Of You, by whom the buds, and the lovely flowers
Not fear the South Wind, or the most burning Sun;
To follow other will, when of one stone
To foot formed a Shepherd these words;
The Rustic Vittoria has the first honors.

Rustica Amorosa (Rustic Lover)
Balletto of M. Battistino;
In Praise of the Illustrious Lady,
The Lady Vittoria Rustici Della Corvara,
Roman Gentlewoman
Standing the people facing without taking hands, as is shown in
the picture of Coppia Felice, they
will do the Riverenza grave, and 2 Continenze, with 8 Riprese, 4 to the
left, and 4 to the right; then they will do 2 Passi trangati flanked
back, to manner of Barriera, with 1
Seguito ordinario forward, starting with the left: they will do the
same Passi trangati, and Seguito another turn by opposite, that is,
starting with the right, and to the end of the said Seguito, the man
will take the ordinary hand of the lady.
In the second time, walking, they will do 4 Seguiti ordinarii, to the
end of which the man will put the lady facing without letting go the
hand, and together they will do 8 Riprese, 4 to the left, and 4 to the
right: then they will return to do the same Passi, and Seguito with the
one and the other foot, as were done in the first time.
In the third time, they will do 4 Seguiti ordinarii, 2 forward passing,
bending the knees some in the end of this, to manner of a meza
Riverenza, and the other 2 changing place, and turning to the left:
after the which they will do 8 Riprese, 4 to the left, and 4 to the
right, with the Passi trangati, and the Seguito with the one and the
other foot, as of above. At the final Seguito, the lady will take
the left hand of the man with her right hand, and will guide the Ballo,
doing together all that which will have been done in the second time;
and at the end each one will return to their place, and they will rest
facing without taking hand.
To the Sciolta of the Sonata
They will do the Riverenza grave, with 4 Seguiti spezzati turned to the
left; the lady then will go where they started the Ballo, and the man
will go to the other part: where facing they will do another 2 Seguiti
spezzati flanked; then turning the left flank inward, they will do 2
Riprese, and 3 Trabuchetti, starting with the left: at the end of which
they will be turned with the right flank inward, and will do the same,
starting with the right. After they will return to do the 2 Passi
trangati back, and 1 Seguito forward with the one and the other foot,
as of above. Finally the man will take the ordinary hand of the
lady, and they will finish the Ballo, doing together the Riverenza.
