Furioso (Furious)
Balletto of uncertain, to do in 6
Chiefly standing 3 women at one end of the hall in a line, and 3
men at the other end, likewise in a line; then facing all together do
the Riverenza grave with the left, and 2 Continenze. After the
man and the lady which will be found in the middle, will guide the
Ballo, doing 2 Seguiti ordinarii forward, and at the end of these
Seguiti bending the knees a little in the manner of meza Riverenza,
they will touch the right hand then changing place, they will do
another 2 Seguiti scorsi: then the man will be put in the middle of the
2 women, and the woman in the middle of the two men, which both they
will be facing. The other two men, and the other two women, will
follow to do the same all together: then joined which they will be to
their line, they will do the chain in this manner: the men will turn to
the right hand, doing 4 Seguiti scorsi; and the ladies by opposite to
the left hand: then to the end of the time, she who will stand to the
left, will walk in the middle; and so the men will do by opposite, he
who stands to the right hand walking in the middle; which in this
manner doing it, at each time each man will be found again with his
lady, which he would not have, if all in the start of said chain, would
have been turning to the left hand, as now said Ballo is wont to be
done. They also have to be careful, that each one which will
return in the middle has to do his time, as the first will have done,
and to always change place: and at the end of all 3 the times each one
will return as they started.
To the sciolta of the Sonata.
When each one will have done their time, and those which will have
guided the Ballo, will be returned in the middle, all together will do
the Riverenza grave, and 2 Continenze, starting with the left
foot. Then those which are found in the middle will start the
Chain by long of the room, that is 2 times of Sonata, taking first the
right hand, and then the left of them who stand to the left hand: then
of new they will give the right hand to them which will stand to the
right hand, and this the men will do as much as the women: when they
will then find themselves at the head of the room, they will turn to
the left, and taking the right hand which they will have let go of
another turn, they will give the left to the other companion, until
which all arrive at the place where they were first found, that is,
which those who guide, will settle in the middle, and those which were
to the left will settle them beside those which guide, to their place,
putting them to the left; then the final ones will settle to the right
similarly in their place: the which the women will do likewise.
Change of the Sonata.
All together will do the Riverenza grave, and 2 Seguiti scorsi, all
taking hands in the wheel. First they are wont to do in this part
the Riverenza grave, and the Continenze, and then scurrying to take the
hands; the which is false, but that which it would not pass in time to
do the 8 Riprese, or to do 2, and 2 Trabuchetti.
To the Sciolta of the Sonata.
The abovesaid Riprese, and Trabuchetti, have to be done 4 turns, in
place of which they are also able to do 8 Seguiti spezzati in the
wheel, then they will do the turns of Contrapasso;
and in place of
these they are also able to do 4 Seguiti flanked, 2 back, and 2 forward.
In the second time of said Sciolta, returning to take the hands, they
will do to the right the same 8 Seguiti spezzati, which now they will
have done to the left, with the same turns of the Contrapasso; or in
their place the Seguiti flanked back, and forward, as of above:
returning all to their placesby straight line, whiere they will have
started to do the said Riprese.
Other change of the Sonata.
In the third time the men alone will do the Riverenza grave to the
women, and after the women thence will do another to the men.
They will turn to do another time of the Sciolta.
In this final time of the Sonata, all together will do 2 Seguiti
spezzati turned to the left, then scurrying another 4, each man going
to take his lady by the ordinary hand, that is he who stands in the
middle will take the woman who will be found in the middle facing: and
he who will stand to the left, will take the lady which will be found
to the left; and the final, she who will stand to the right: and in
this manner they will put end to the Ballo with doing the Riverenza.
