To the Most Illustrious Lady And my Most Worshipful
Patroness,
The Lady Donna Agnesina Colonna,
Seeking Good Memory
Gentle soul, which now in our start
Joyful intents you unweave, and made damsel
Of him, rogues with the foot the wandering Star,
Which you to one time hence have retaken, and showed;
Whilst about you with good wise written
To make of the ancient and to you more lovely;
Whence it may be himself now of new herb,
Muse, the hill Landone to it seems of your;
Too much high dared: alas so ever she is wont
Envious Death, to so many honors
To break the course others right, and next.
To fall with you the pomps to the holy laurels,
To us the hope, and his joy to the world,
And make it plain you, New Fetonte [proper name?], the Sun.

Bassa Honorata (Honored Valley)
Balletto of M. Battistino;
In Praise of the Most Illustrious Lady
Donna Agnesina Colonna Caetana
In this Balletto the man will take the left hand of the lady,
and they will do together the Riverenza, and 2 Continenze, starting
each thing with the left foot: after they will take the right hand, and
will do to the left flank 2 Seguiti ordinarii, 2 Trabuchetti, and 2
Riprese; then taking the left hand, they will do the same starting it
with the right foot: and without letting go the hand, they will do 2
Continenze: then the man letting go the left, he will take with the
right the ordinary hand of the lady, and they will do together the
Riverenza a little facing.
In the second time, walking, they will do 2 Puntate, and 4 Passi gravi,
2 Seguiti ordinarii, 2 Trabuchetti, and 2 Riprese to the left flank:
then with the right foot they will do 2 other Seguiti, 2 Trabuchetti,
and 2 Riprese to the right, with 2 Continenze gravi, 1 to the left, and
the other to the right, and the Riverenza.
In the third time the man alone will do 2 Passi gravi, and 1 Seguito
ordinario to the left flank, and will do the same to the right flank,
starting it with the right: then together will be done 2 Seguiti
flanked, 2 Trabuchetti, and 2 Riprese to the left: then they will do 2
other Seguiti, starting it with the right, with the 2 Trabuchetti, and
2 Riprese to the right, and 2 Continenze facing, and the
Riverenza. The lady alone will do the same which the man will
have done: then they will do together the same Seguiti, Trabuchetti,
and Riprese to the one, and to the other hand, as of above. In
the wheel then they will walk doing with the left foot 2 Passi gravi,
and 1 Seguito ordinario, and they will do the same with the left foot:
then facing they will do 2 Seguiti flanked, 2 Trabuchetti, and 2
Riprese to the left flank. The same Seguiti, Trabuchetti, and
Riprese will be done to the right flank, with 2 Continenze, and the
Riverenza facing.
To the Sciolta of the Sonata.
They will take the right hand, doing 4 Seguiti spezzati to the left
flank, then letting it go, they will take the left hand, and will do
the same with the left foot, and back will do 2 Seguiti flanked,
2 Trabuchetti, and 2 Riprese to the left flank: after that 2 other
Seguiti will be done with the right foot flanked forward, 2
Trabuchetti, and 2 Riprese to the right flank, with 2 Continenze, the
one to the left, and the other to the right. The man will take
the lady by the ordinary hand, and pausing in the head of the hall, or
where they will turn most commodiously, they will end the Ballo with
doing together the Riverenza.
