To the Illustrious Lady,
The Lady Giulia Stalla Ragonia,
Roman Gentlewoman

High Ragonia, to whose valor I incline
With the heart, with the soul, and with the entire effects;
With your deeds sweetly proud,
Demonstrate to my joyful works the path:
By You is seen the great Latin name
Joined to the ancient honor, by you, which I would be hoping
Shall be of seeing my cold thoughts
All kindling it by my good fate:
So to the moving of one sweet proud look
Make of me a way to vanish the dark storm,
Which makes the world blind passing over me in manner,
As not ever had a foot slow, or late
In revering at all times, and of my bosom
Shall not be memory ever so much divided.
