The following were notes while the character was evolving. They do not necessarily represent the way it came out.
A small boy, associated with the Circus. According to the [cast list], he spins plates and juggles. We don't actually know that his last name is Belloptrix -- that's a presumption based on his mother's name.
His mother is Trish; his father (who plays Punch? in the show) seems, so far, to just be "Balthazar's Daddy". (That's the way he is listed in the cast list.) Daddy describes the Circus (v4, p11) as "just passing through, like cheap beer". Daddy was a smith for the Gilded Duke (v4, p69), and was given "Smilin' Stev", an apparently strong but simple menial Clank, as back pay. (Stev is actually a pretty nasty Warclank, as we see on (v4, p85).) Daddy plays Punch as "big and slow and stupid" (v4, p69), and does so quite intentionally (v5, p41); what does Adam feel about that?
He thinks (v4, p10-11) that Agatha and Krosp are "show people".
He was (v4, p10) the first member of the Circus who Agatha encounters, when she is lost in the forest.
