To the Most Illustrious Lady
The Lady Pellegrina Cappello Bentivogli

Blessed eyes, whence is nestled Love,
Living rays of the Sun, sweet sparks,
Which the most frozen souls, and the most lovely
Inflamed of holy and pure ardor;
Of marking the others lives the great God
To you gave the virtue which the other stars have,
Of you the Eternity alone speaks,
Whence to raise it not avails human valor.
Beautiful eyes, in whom to see is not given
That which has of beauty the Heaven, and the Elements,
In whom is able mortal man to make it blessed;
Or of my soul shining mirrors,
Forbid not to me ever against fate
To burn for you, since that mine of you are made quenched,

Bentivoglio
Cascarda;

In Praise of the Most Illustrious Lady
The Lady Pellegrina Cappello Bentivogli

The people have to stand facing, as is shown in the figure of the picture to the Cascarda Alta Regina, doing the Riverenza minima, with 4 Seguiti spezzati in the wheel, and 4 Trabuchetti facing: after the which they will do 2 Seguiti spezzati flanked back, and 2 Passi presti forward, and the Cadenza, starting each thing with the left foot.

In the second time, they will follow to do the same walk in the wheel, doing 4 Seguiti spezzati, with 2 Scambiate, 1 to the left, and the other to the right: then they will do 3 Seguiti spezzati flanked, 2 back, and 1 turned to the left, and the Cadenza facing with the right.

In the third time, the man alone will do 2 Fioretti flanked a piede pari, and 2 Passi presti back, with 3 Riprese preste with the left flank inward, and 1 Trabuchetto: and he will return to do the same another turn by opposite: facing then they will do together 3 Seguiti spezzati, 2 back, starting with the left, and 1 turned to the left, and the Cadenza with the right.

The lady will also do the same change.

In the fourth time, they will take the ordinary hand, doing to the left 2 Passi presti, and 2 Trabuchetti; then letting it go, they will do 1 Seguito spezzato turned to the left changing place with the left foot, and 2 Trabuchetti, the 1 to the left, and the other to the right facing.

In the final time, taking the left hand, they will do the same which they will have done to the right by opposite; then they will do 3 Seguiti spezzati flanked, 2 back, and 1 turned to the left, and doing the Cadenza with the right foot, they will put end to the Cascarda with doing the Riverenza against the time of the sound.

Lute tablature of the Cascarda, Bentivoglio.
