Bluesheet: The Castle - Abner
The Castle
You've spent pretty much your entire life in Amagog's Castle. You're well familiar with it and how it works. A listing of places in the Castle is enclosed, and you know some salient facts about how it works:
- There are easier-to-find and harder-to-find parts of the Castle. Abner is stashed in one of the harder-to-find parts. At least, for now - which rooms are easier or harder to find does vary over time, due to:
- The internal layout of the Castle...changes. It's not that anything actually shifts mechanically, it's just that you won't find the same rooms in the same place all the time, or the same hallways leading from place to place. It's a gradual sort of change, and you don't find it particularly disconcerting - it's how it's worked for as long as you can remember, and you don't have any trouble finding your way around. [If you want to find your way to a particular room, grab a GM. It may still require a bit of wandering, but you'll be able to make your way there even if the room isn't currently publically accessible.]
- The castle has a bunch of traps and defenses. Some of them don't work anymore, having been disabled by explorers or Tarsus Beetle and Silas Merlot. Before leaving the Castle, you reset all of the ones that were still in reasonable working order - having some visitors was kind of interesting, but the expeditions crawling all over the place...you needed a bit of peace and quiet so you could think.
- For the most part, you left things of the Master's where he left them. You don't have any particular impulse to tidy things up, and it's reminded you a bit of him over the centuries.
And a mechanics note: While you have certain special abilities and knowledge relating to the Castle, you still need to follow the same rules as everyone else when wandering around it.
