Most people haven't twigged to how remarkable this is, but Beetle and Silas certainly do. They encountered the Circus a couple of days ago, and found out about the stories of Dingbot Prime yesterday. They are a mix of shocked and curious now: this shouldn't even be possible, and they certainly hadn't expected it of Agatha. They really, really want to know how the process works -- among other things, if they can study it and understand it, they might be able to do it themselves.
Of course, their actual agendas are a bit different. For Beetle, it's pure curiosity, much as with the Van Rijns. This is an extraordinary chance to study one of the most remarkable Clanks in the world, but he wouldn't dream of harming it: it's a vital resource, and he wants to keep it functional. He is very conscious of how most of Van Rijn's work has been destroyed by well-meaning students of his work, and doesn't want to see that happen again.
Silas, OTOH, wants it for much more practical reasons. If he can learn how to build self-replicating Clanks like these, and moreover control them properly, this gives him a fine tool for his own ambitions. He may not have the insane creativity of most Sparks, but he's a much more disciplined and organized mind, and he's well aware that he could create a powerful army of conquest with such things.
So the two of them have agreed that they want to capture and examine Dingbot Prime. What they do with it remains to be seen in-game. Fortunately, Agatha should be able to repair almost any damage, if they do kill it.
In the meantime, Krosp has, in his usual suspicious way, found these two lurking around, and heard enough to know that they are planning something. He regards Dingbot Prime as essentially a subinfeudiary of his: it's a vassal of a vassal, and therefore it is his responsibility to keep it safe. So he's paying close attention in case something happens.
