| Item CS9382: Torn Notebook An ancient leather-wrapped notebook. It looks like it is hundreds of years old, and the ink is rather faded. The pages are vellum, and are still in good shape. However, a number of pages have been torn out. It appears to be full of notes, drawings and calculations, with lots of scribblings and crossings-out. All are apparently in some kind of code. | Translation CS9382: Torn Notebook (Only transferable if this is written out onto an item.) This is notes about the creation of the great Mirror in the Castle Laboratory! They describe a slow process of experimentation, but show that, properly used, the Mirror can not peer through time and space, but even into alternate realities where things work quite differently. The user of the Mirror can even travel to these places by stepping through, if it is properly focused. There are is a picture of how to set the knobs to use the Mirror for various purposes (time vs. space. vs. reality), but the page immediately after that is missing. |
| Item CS2837: Notebook page This is a torn piece of vellum – it appears to be a page ripped out of a larger book. There is a sort of diagram and encrypted notes on it, but it’s hard to even figure out which side is supposed to be up. | Translation CS2837: Notebook page (Only transferable if this is written out onto an item.) This is a diagram of the great Mirror in the Castle Laboratory. It shows the Mirror, something called the “Mecanicall Crystall”, and music feeding into the “Crystall”. It appears to show the process of focusing the Mirror, by playing specific music while touching the “Crystall”. |
| Item CS2972: Draft Page This is what appears to be a draft of some sort – from the layout of the lines, maybe poetry? Lots of writing, but most of it scratched out and rewritten. It’s in a complete foreign language, if so. | Translation CS2972: Draft Page (Only transferable if this is written out onto an item.) This is, indeed, poetry. And unfortunately, it only makes slightly more sense when translated. The bits you can read say: Wielder of the lightning sword, who creates his own foes for pleasure Driven mad by the spark of love run to ground Steps outside the roots of his tree and cuts it to the quick They will bury the great one and the seed. The house of Victory, sheltered in the air-enclosure Hidden by the silver of servitude and the angels that dance Bind their fates as one, in distant Albion An empire that sees no setting sun |
