You are Cameron Betts, second-in-command to Captain Elvis Presley of the Jailhouse Rock, and his right-hand-man in the Rock Squad of the Space Brigade. Your task is to keep these guys in line, and capture the Space Pirates.
It's not always an easy job. The King is a good commander (and the best singer in the spiral arm), but -- well, sometimes he's not the best influence on the men. Good grooming is a fine thing, but you've more than once lost a pirate ship because the pilot's hand was too slippery from Fizzbo's Imitation Greasy Kid Stuff to steer properly, or because someone's hair got mussed, and had to be recombed to perfection before the chase could continue.
Still, it's an exciting job, and one you wouldn't trade for the world. Now, all you have to do is track the guys and girls down, and make sure everyone is looking for the Pirates. And hope that you don't get into too much trouble for getting involved with the P-5. You've been making friends while you are here on Earth, as part of your cultural studies, and it seemed like a good gag. It's now seeming a little tasteless, though...
And then there's the search for Flippitatus. This may be a wild goose chase, but what if it's real? You've resolved that, if Flippitatus is found, you will be the one to take charge of it and bring it back home. The Captain may be a good guy, but he gets all the fame and all the chicks; he doesn't need to be the Saviour of the Galaxy as well. (And you know from talking with him that he's a little tired of all the hero-worship.) No, this might finally be your chance to shine...
